This VEGAN smoothie is healthful, cold, thick, fruity, and scrumptious! Smoothies are great light meals or snacks. They are easy to make, quick, and if you make them well they will be jam packed with nutrients!
I sometimes find myself focussing on whole grains and vegetables and totally forgetting the necessity of fruit in my diet! Fruits are wonderful because they are tangy, sweet, sour, and are packed with vitamins! Fruits yield delicious juices, are excellent raw or cooked, and can be eaten alone or within a wonderful recipe! The sky is the limit for smoothie recipes. You can add silken tofu, frozen and or fresh fruits or berries, fruit juice, sweetener (if you prefer, but absolutely not necessary!), milk (almond, rice, soy, any non-dairy milk), flax seeds, nut butter… I could go on. But I won’t!
1.5 cups Soy Milk
2.5-3 cups frozen fruit blend (banana, strawberry, pineapple)
4 tsp ground flax seed
.5 cups pomegranate seeds (more or less to taste)
Directions: Blend all ingredients together. Fold in additional pomegranate seeds in if desired. Enjoy!
Oh how easy it is to make a smoothie! Some smoothies are great, juicy, and great to sip on or to spoon in your mouth! THIS smoothie is thick and creamy-like due to the cups and cups of frozen fruit! I love using frozen fruit in smoothies because they make it thick naturally and don’t have to be chilled. You can make it and enjoy it right away! In fact, this particular smoothie stayed thick and luscious even after sitting in the refrigerator after a day! It didn’t melt down and get too juicy. Try this smoothie, get some vitamins, antioxidants, omega 3’s, and lots of tasty goodness!
